Centerville, New Jersey Has a Problem with Trout follows three high school students taking initiative to clean their city’s riverbank whose activism become the focus of national attention when mutated—walking, talking, human-sized—trout begin to join in on their protest. This play questions why we expect teenagers to be the ones to save the world, and how that expectation is both empowering and wildly dangerous. (Blurb adapted from The Daily Northwestern press release and Juliet Kang Huneke).

Produced by student group Vertigo Productions, Centerville, New Jersey served as both a developmental production and premiere of this student-written piece. Cast and team were key contributors in the development of the script and characters.
